Tesla Gigafactory Texas 18 August 2020 Construction Update Video

Giga Texas construction update 18 August 2020. Work continues at a fast pace and the site had changed dramatically in less than a month since construction start. Some significant changes have happened in the past day or so as seen in this video. Here are some of these developments.

Today, the first of the foundation footers are being drilled using the GeoPier Rammed Aggregate Pier® (RAP) process discussed in the last video. They have two complete GeoPier crews and associated equipment in operation which should really accelerate the process of installing these footings as they could install 60 to 100 support piers each day!

In addition, they are expanding the spread of gravel into new areas where the large foundation will go. The norther mounds/hills in what was the north “swamp” area are now gone and they have begun clearing in the south east of the site ... a new development. The south swamp area has more filling and compaction efforts underway and there is an on-site electrical crew moving power lines to skirt around the perimeter and away from the swamp area that is fast disappearing.

Finally, we take a quick trip up to the far north to see a new clearing area and try to determine what it might be used for in the future.
