Casting Slab Demo, Bull Horned Model Y & 2 Crates Unboxed. 24 May 2023 Giga Texas Update (09:35AM)

Gigafactory Texas on 24 May 2023! This is where Model Y’s are built and soon Cyber Truck production will start!

Looks like Giga Texas is preparing for, or just completed a Memorial Day photo shoot using a Model Y with horns (last seen jumping at Cyber Rodeo last April) but with "Thank you Veterans" logos, service shields and more on the painted surfaces.
I battled in and around rain showers this morning as a strong frontal system and thunderstorms rolled through the area early today, and although I did get rained on during the last third of the flight, it wasn't too bad and just after I finished up, sunny skies broke out all over!

Here are a few highlighted items from today's flight:
I show some closeups of the three east casting machine receiving bays and the large loading opening with interior concrete removal work and what appears to be another reconfiguration of an already completed portion of the factory. A truck was also delivering long rebar strands into this area, so the suggests a large area of ground slab is being re-worked and a new slab being prepared. This is just nest to the widened berm where electrical conduit installation is progressing. This conduit will connect the building to the new electrical switchyard and allow roof solar panels to connect to the Megapack construction site.

On the southwest corner temporary loading platform area, we see crews have unboxed the two large crates that arrived on site 48 hours ago, and they are preparing to lift them up onto the platform. The wrapping on each of the items is still in place, with no markings, so it is difficult to conclusively identify what these large items are.

Work continues on the southeast corner of stamping installing more white-water pipes into trenches, while additional trenches are being added. Nearby, more rebar cages for footings have been constructed as well as more rebar cages for the Continuous Flight Auger Piles. This suggests we will see more of these CFA piles drilled on the south end soon.

The Megapack site shows a lot more progress with installation of the large conduit under where the Megapacks will be installed in two long parallel lines. In addition, crews were installing conduit making a 90 degree turn towards the electric switchyard, particularly on the south end where bores have been filled with steel beams and then concrete panels fabricated and slipped in between each beam. It may be that a control office or connection structure is under construction in this area.
