Gigafactory Texas on 27 October 2021! This is where the Cyber Truck and Model Y will be built!

Big thunderstorms came through this morning, but I took a chance that we might get a break between the heavy rain and the high winds expected later this morning and all afternoon. Worked out despite a huge traffic jam on the interstate heading up from San Antonio.
In this video we look back one year ago on this date to see where the construction efforts were with Giga Texas at that time and we see some significant milestones occurring in the stamping machine structure area, along with a few other notable areas around the site. Hopefully this look back will help viewers appreciate the scale, complexity and amazing achievements that have already been made to get the factory close to production in such a short amount of time.

We also look at a significant milestone today as Tesla officially becomes a $1 Trillion dollar company and does so in one of the fastest rises in history to this level! Finally, we look at a few new photos taken inside the General Assembly structure where the Model Y hanging display is located near the large glass windows on the west side overlooking the highway.

Here are the highlights from today's video:
- As you can imagine, a lot of standing water and mud, but the work continues ... in this case, I think a lot more of the effort was on the inside this morning and there were many trucks delivering materials to loading areas around the main building.
- In the south end, most of the work was paused due to the rain and mud, and we see some water challenges to tackle under the bridge where the storm water pipes terminate and drain into the Colorado river. They are not finished with construction, which likely explains what you'll see in the images and video.
- Work on the west side large trapezoidal glass panes continues, and about half of the angled area on the north is now installed. Soon, this area will be fully enclosed with glass. We also see worn on the south end ground level, and the sun really helped provide good lighting into the east side from the central area to see what activity was occurring on this side.
- The central area with the "high bay" was active, and we see much more roofing decking applied over this structure. More steel has arrived to continue the structure assembly and long truss frames, possible to span the distance from the center columns to frame in the roof are present as well. The footings on the south end are flooded again, but they also appear to be fully completed with concrete, with one possible footing remaining (under water).
- The casting structure roof mate is ongoing, including the bridge area to the paint shop. interestingly, unlike the same area farther south, this one is not getting a raised transition, rather a flat one with a small "wall" section between the two structures. I do not know why this design change was made.
- The long gas pipeline was being installed on the east side of the casting machine structure all the way up to Harold Green Road. More work on this pipe up near the old bag plant was also underway this morning.
- Finally, it seems that even more steel parts were delivered and stacked in the east staging area where the battery cathode plant will eventually be built. This area continues to expand to the north and gains materials daily it seems.
