River Road Extension, Megapack Site & Switchyard Progress! 31 May 2023 Giga Texas Update (07:00AM)

Gigafactory Texas on 31 May 2023! This is where Model Y’s are built and soon Cyber Truck production will start!

I tried to get to Giga Texas for a pre-dawn flight, but I got delayed and only arrived as the sun was rising over the horizon, so instead, I got a few sunrise images and during the start of the video. The site was busy as usual, with many interesting details to see!

A few highlights from today include:

West of the highway, we see more of the old concrete sections broken up into finer pieces and piled up for future recycling between the West WOW Yard and the new clearing, which itself looks like a material staging location right now. To the north of these areas, we see more earthwork to prepare a north-south road on the western half, and another large, cleared area on the eastern half.

On the south end of the main building, we see the River Road extension construction making progress south of the "Cyber Pond" and on the east side, a bend to the north and to the east. I think we are seeing the beginnings of the road following around near the Colorado River to the east and then to the north, as we've discussed on several previous videos and consistent with Tesla renders.

On the far southeast side clearing, which is also another material staging yard now, we see crews actively working on what appears to be a semi-permanent loading platform, made up of old concrete wall panels, dirt fill and panels on the top of the fill dirt. I am uncertain what purpose this will serve, but it is nearing completion, so soon I may be able to get visual clues to help figure this out.

The Megapack site continues rapid progress, with both main parallel trenches filled back in and all the conduits installed along with stainless steel frames. On the north end, smaller trenches have been dug, with conduit and cable trays being installed. On the south end, trucks are delivering many more concrete pads, which I think may be for the Megapacks to sit on top of. The number of these concrete pads has grown significantly in the last several days.
