West Expansion, South Dual Pier Drills, East Construction! 3 April 2023 Giga Texas Updates (07:35AM)

Gigafactory Texas on 3 April 2023! This is where Model Y’s are built and soon Cyber Truck production will start!

Early morning flight with clouds and diffuse lighting made for some great image and video quality today! I start out on the far southwest side of the site today to capture a new earthmoving area in progress, probably preparing for a large expansion of the west Warehouse on Wheels Yard.
We also see a second crane being assembled on the south end of the main building, likely another pile drilling rig that should speed the process of drilling and preparing the reinforced piles that seem to be called for on this end of the structure and to support new construction. Crews have also removed all of the remaining underground steel corrugated pipe from the original storm water pipe installation, which is necessary to allow construction to begin!
In the video introduction, I discuss the record production and delivery numbers announced for the 1st Quarter of 2023 … Tesla produced and delivered more cars in this quarter than at any other time in the history of the company! In addition, Giga Texas also hit a major milestone, achieving 4,000 cars produced per week! Congratulations to Tesla, all the employees and the contractors building Giga Texas for these major accomplishments!

Some additional highlights captured on the site today include:
The Battery Cathode plant’s west side temporary loading platforms have now been removed, freeing access to two sections of the plant that can now have the external concrete walls installed. We also see more progress on and around the galvanized steel structure which viewer Ed Foster has identified as a refrigeration system with both primary and secondary cooling loops. The EvapCo fan units and assemblies will act as the condensers for the refrigerant.
At the nearby Die Shop, we see more external wall panels being installed on the east side, utility trenches and conduit on the south side along with more perimeter grade beam concrete completion, and on the west and northwest corners, we see more rebar installation in the deep foundation section, along with perimeter grade beam forms and ground slab preparation work.
The Electrical Switchyard south end shows the concrete wall separating the two transformers is nearly completed. This wall serves as a barrier wall to protect one transformer from the other in the event one of these has as energetic malfunction.
More progress has been made at the southeast clearing, where crews have nearly completed the final grade, including the final gravel mix!
