P6 Battery Upgrade 3: Meir & Koch - U.S. EVA 62
Edited NASA TV footage of U.S. EVA 62 aboard the International Space Station (ISS) (@Space_Station) on January 15, 2020. Expedition 61 NASA astronauts Jessica Meir (@Astro_Jessica) and Christina Koch (@Astro_Christina) performed the EVA. This was their second EVA together, and the second all-woman spacewalk ever.
The objective of the EVA was to remove two old nickel-hydrogen (Ni-H) batteries from the Integrated Equipment Assembly (IEA) on the P6 truss segment and attach them to the Exposed Pallet brought up on HTV-8, relocate one Ni-H battery on the IEA, and install one adapter plate and two new lithium-ion batteries on the IEA. This was the third EVA to replace the existing Ni-H batteries in this IEA with the higher-performance lithium-ion batteries.
The time-lapse portions of the video are at 10 or 30 times normal speed. "Entrepreneur (Epic Background Instrumental)" by Fearless Motivation Instrumentals is from the album "Sounds of Power, Vol. 6."
