Briefing: New Experiment Airlock for Russian Science Lab: Prokopyev & Petelin - Russian EVA 57
Annotated NASA TV footage of the animated briefing for Russian EVA 57, conducted aboard the International Space Station (ISS) on May 3, 2023. ISS Expedition 69 cosmonauts Sergey Prokopyev (Серге́й Проко́пьев) and Dmitry Petelin (Дмитрий Петелин) performed the spacewalk.
The objective of the spacewalk was to release an experiment airlock stored on the Rassvet (Рассвет) module and relocate it to the Nauka (Нау́ка) module. The experiment airlock was launched aboard the Russian Rassvet module in 2010 in the cargo bay of Space Shuttle orbiter Atlantis on mission STS-132.
After it was maneuvered from Rassvet to Nauka by the European Robotic Arm (ERA), the two cosmonauts mated electrical and data connections from the Nauka laboratory module to the experiment airlock.
