Love Her Madly - The Doors 1971

"Love Her Madly", by The Doors, was released in March 1971. It was the lead single from their L.A. Woman album, and final album with lead vocalist Jim Morrison. The song became one of the highest charting hits for The Doors peaking at #11 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and hitting #3 in Canada.

The Doors formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, California, and took its name from Aldous Huxley's book The Doors of Perception. They were among the most controversial, influential, and unique rock acts of the 1960's and beyond, primarily because of Morrison's wild, poetic lyrics, charismatic, and unpredictable stage persona. The band had a series of top ten albums in the US during the 1960's and early 70's, that included 20 Gold, 14 Platinum, and 5 Multi-Platinum awards. The Doors album sales alone is reported to be over 100 million worldwide making them one of the best selling bands of all time. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.
