The Kinks. Kinda Kinks LP. Pye Records (1965).
A music documentary video about the second long playing record from the British rock band The Kinks, being Ray Davies (rhythm guitar, vocals, harmonica), Dave Davies (lead guitar, vocals), Mick Avory (drums and percussion) and Pete Quaife (bass guitar and vocals). Titled Kinda Kinks, this 1965 album swiftly followed their eponymous debut LP, and was again produced by Shel Talmy (producer for The Who) and features a blend of beat music, rock n roll and rhythm and blues, with two covers; Dancing in the Street (originally recorded by Martha Reeves and the Vandellas) and Jay Miller’s Jay Miller’s swamp blues song Nagging Woman. The vast majority of tracks were written by the band’s resident songwriter Ray Davies, including the recent number one single Tired of Waiting For You. I will describe the first pressing and the 1969 re-issue. The price guide value, as usual, is provided at the end. I hope you enjoy the video!
