Wall Neck Side Bends/Rotations (Simple & SAFE Exercises for a Stiff Neck)
If you've got a stiff neck, then you MUST try the 2 exercises in this video because stiff necks are synonymous with dysfunctional neck movement and these exercises will restore proper, clean movement.
For example, I'll ask someone to side bend their neck and it'll be some uncomfortable looking combination of a side bend, rotation and tilt.
No wonder they're complaining about their neck!
If you can't move the neck in the ways it's meant to move through the full possible ROM, the vertebrae don't get pumped like they need to for cellular health and to maintain suppleness.
These exercises will restore clean side bending and rotation of your neck so they're helpful whether you're trying to slip a punch, keep your head down when teeing off or check your blind spot while driving.
2:47 is where I begin teaching you the side bend.
5:07 is where I begin teaching you rotation.
Take the time to watch, follow-along and learn the cues taught because these are movements you can take with you for the rest of your life.
Because this is so simple and our necks take a beating on a daily basis due to cell phones, computers and stupid bosses, I suggest you start and end your day with 3 reps of each.
Give it a go and let me know how it feels in the Comments.
