With our creative English and French poetic lyrics in verse form and multilingual contrast as a comment, we'd like to invite our YT friends for an intercultural entertainment.

For the sake of an interlinguistic comparison we list here lyrics of four languages: the original Japanese, the Chinese version, as well as our creative English and French poetic lyrics in verse form.

As you can see, the chant consists of three quatrains and a refrain. A deeper understanding of the Japanese folk song can be enhanced by means of a comparative study quatrain by quatrain.

Our English commentary lyrics follow the rhyme pattern AABB in each quatrain, for example: /blows, rows /city, pretty/; /bridge, cottage/dares, years/; /mill, hill/quiet, alright/.

Our French commentary lyrics follow the rhyme pattern ABAB, for example: / bleu, fleurs, peu, chaleur/; and AABB, for example: /bois, là-bas/osé, passées/; /moulin, loin/guère, verre/.
