Wet Cough
Cough is the body’s way of getting rid of any foreign material from the lungs and the respiratory system. Wet cough or productive cough, is accompanied with passage of phlegm or mucus.

Causes:
• Respiratory infection
• Allergy
• Asthma
• Flu
-----------------------------
Food groups to consume in wet cough:
1. Mucus Reducing Foods: Help to eliminate mucus from the lungs
Foods to consume: Onions, garlic, hot peppers, horseradish, ginger, herbal teas, clear soups and broths
2. Natural expectorant
Foods to consume: Honey
3. Eat light foods: Makes you feel light & do not produce more
mucus
Foods to consume: Oranges, apples, pears, guava and vegetables such as spinach & carrots

Recipes based on the above food groups:
Recipe 1: Clear soup
1. Take 2 chopped spring onions in a bowl
2. Crush and add 1 garlic clove
3. Grate 1 small piece of ginger in it
4. Now, add ½ chopped carrot
5. 1 tsp chopped coriander leaves
6. Also add 2 chopped celery leaves
7. Now add 2 cups of water in a large pan
8. Put all these ingredients and boil for 15 min
9. Add salt and pepper for taste and serve hot
This soup is not only healthy but it also provides comfort to your sore throat
Recipe 2: Fruit salad
1. Take 1 peeled and diced apple in a bowl
2. Add 1 diced mango (seasonal)
3. 1 peeled and diced pear
4. Now, add one peeled orange
For dressing:
5. Take 1 ½ tsp of lemon juice in a small bowl
6. Add 1 tsp of honey
7. And 1 tsp finely grated fresh ginger
8. Whisk this well and add to the fruit mixture
9. Mix well & your salad is ready
