Makin' Love (Live) - Kiss - Drum Cover by Keith B.

“Makin’ Love” is one of Kiss’ heavier songs, and is a deeper cut that was never released as a single. This version is off their second live album “Alive II,” which went double platinum and reached #7 on Billboard’s 200 album chart. The song was penned by Paul Stanley and Sean Delaney, the latter being reportedly often referred to by those close to the band as "the fifth member of KISS." Delaney is largely credited with developing Kiss’ choreography onstage, and co-wrote many songs with Paul Stanley, including "Mr. Speed" and "Take Me" from the 1976 album “Rock and Roll Over”, and "All American Man" from the studio side of “Alive II”. He also co-wrote the song "Rocket Ride" with Ace Frehley for the same album, and co-wrote songs for Gene Simmons' and Peter Criss' 1978 self-titled solo albums. Peter Criss’s drum part is very straight forward, but with the slight twist being a tom hit instead of a snare hit on every other beat in (most of) the choruses. Cool song for which I wish I had eight toms for that final long fill!
