This is the second single from Wolfgang Van Halen’s debut solo project/band known as Mammoth WVH, and their self-titled album. Wolfgang reportedly chose the band's name as a derivative to his father's first band named Mammoth, which eventually evolved into the legendary Van Halen. Wolfgang wrote every song on the album, played every instrument and sung every song. I picked this song to cover after hearing it simply because I thought the drum part sounded cool, was very creative, and seemed a bit challenging with all the different parts Wolfgang seamlessly mixes in. Some of his uncle Alex certainly wore off. The album hit #12 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart, and “Don’t Back Down” hit #2 on Billboard’s Rock Main chart. An extremely talented young man and a fun song for me to play.
