Cold As Ice - Foreigner - Drum Cover by Keith B.

"Cold as Ice" was released by Foreigner in 1977 and became one of the band's best-known songs, peaking at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100. Ironically, it was initially the B-side of some of the versions of the "Feels Like the First Time" single. Billboard described the song as having a "haunting feel" and a "surrealistic chilling effect", and in 1978 it was used as the soundtrack for a skit on Saturday Night Live that showed a man being attacked by a woman in a number of gruesome ways (SNL’s host and horror movie icon Christopher Lee introduced the segment as being "not for the squeamish"). The drum part from Dennis Elliott fits the song like a glove, and is extremely tasteful yet drives the song home. It includes a somewhat rare use in a rock song of a double stroke roll, and just after the 2:30 mark includes a super cool fill that I never really appreciated until trying to learn the song (and which I am probably not playing 100% correct – hard one to pick out). Excellent song that is fun to play.
