Strutter - Kiss - Drum Cover by Keith B. (featuring Shock The System)

This video adds a new dimension to my channel by introducing a drum cover that is part of a live band performance. The band is Chicago area classic hard rock cover band “Shock The System” of which I am now a member. The song is “Strutter” by Kiss, which is among my favorite early Kiss songs. Playing covers with a band changes, to a degree, how I approach covering the drum part. When playing to a recording my goal has been to come as close to all of the details of the original drum part as possible. In a band situation, where I am playing 20+ songs successively, my goal is to capture the spirit of the original, but to be willing to adapt to how other band members are interpreting the song, and aligning with them. So I get to maybe 75-80% of the original drum part. A very different and fun drumming experience!
