Southern Cornbread Dressing Easily Made Gluten Free
My goodness I sure say I'm gonna a lot! Sorry LOL
Southern Cornbread Dressing
Corn bread
2 cups of corn meal
3/4 cup of Flour (I used Gluten Free Flour)
1 tsp baking soda (omit if your cornmeal contains)
1/2 tsp baking powder (omit if your cornmeal contains)
1 egg
1 cup of milk or butter milk (I used milk and a cap full of vinegar)
1 tsp salt, nature seasoning
Mix above ingredients well and place in a skillet that has been preheated in a 400 degree oven. Bake 20 minutes or until golden brown and toothpick comes out clean.
Dressing Recipe
1 head of celery including the heart
2 bundles of green onions (about 20 stalks)
1 32 oz box of chicken stock (more if not using stock from cooking turkey)
1 stick of butter
8 hard boiled eggs
Nature seasoning
garlic powder
thyme leaves
pepper
onion powder
sage
whatever seasoning you like
1 box of stuffing mix like stovetop (I used gluten free mix)
Cut celery and green onions and sauté in one stick of butter until soft.
Break cornbread into a large baking dish. Add cooked celery, green onion, chicken stock or broth, and chopped hard boiled eggs. Mix well and pour about 1 cup of the stock from the turkey into dressing. Bake 375 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes until golden brown on top. Thanks for watching,
