Tesla Gigafactory Texas 15 September 2020 Construction Update

15 September Giga Texas Update video. Major news is that yesterday, on the AustinTexas.gov official permit site, a public release of the official Gigafactory Texas Site Plan documents which gives a lot of new information about what is being built, where and how everything will be arranged. There is a new clearing area just south of the on-site Martin Marietta concrete Batch plant and it revealed an old house that is likely going to be demolished. The clearing south of this is now known to be part of the switch yard and a temporary switch yard and work continues at a fast pace here. We also now know why they have been excavating south of where all of the trucks and vehicles were being parked and this is one of two water retention ponds needed to control water runoff due to rains that are common around Austin. Additional clearing and fill dirt application is occurring south of this area as well, all on the east side of the power lines.
In the west construction site, we now know that a very large water retention pond is being installed at the far south and west of the two foundations. We also now know for certain that there are two buildings being constructed. Work continues in the area that is suspected to be where the casting machines will go as large trenches and open excavation areas are very apparent. There are also two new square pits in the smaller of the two foundations near the south west.
They continue to try aerating the central mud pond area which is now able to have new fill applied and compacted. In fact, water trucks are once again applying water to help with the compaction. The northwest pond area fill is being aerated to allow trucks and bulldozers to enter the area and resume pond draining and fill in order to extend northward the second foundation as there is still a large disparity in ground level.
