Shorty Rogers (1924-1994) was an American jazz trumpeter, composer and arranger, and one of the principal creators of West Coast Jazz.

'The Boss' Maynard Ferguson (1928-2006) was a Canadian jazz trumpeter, trombonist, percussionist, singer, composer, arranger and bandleader. He was famous for his ability to play in a high register.
