Romain Leleu, 'Romance' (Rafael Mendez)
Romain Leleu (1983) is a French virtuoso trumpeter and teacher. Instrumental soloist revelation by the 'Victoires de la Musique' (French Grammy Awards) in 2009, Romain Leleu performs all over the world with a repertoire ranging from Baroque concertos to the 21th century. As soloist he appears with the main French and international orchestras. Romain Leleu teaches at the Lyon Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique.
He interprets the beautiful 'Romance' ('Romanza'), composed by Rafael Mendez.
The legendary Mexican / American trumpeter, composer, arranger, actor and teacher Rafael Mendez (1906-1981) was famous for his tone, range, technique and unparalleled double tonguing. He is considered one of the greatest trumpeters of all time.
