Elvis Presley - For The Heart - From First Take to the Master

The only truly upbeat song on Elvis’ penultimate album “From Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, Tennessee” is the country rock style “For The Heart”. It was the opening track of side 2 on the original 1976 vinyl album.
Elvis recorded “From The Heart” on 5 February 1976 in the Jungle Room in Graceland and it was the first of three tracks recorded that evening. The recording numbering was strange in that there was a few ‘a’ and ‘b’ takes and they did not seem to run in a normal chronological order. For Example, Elvis recorded 1-5 then 3-5b!!
The actual number of the take which became the RCA master is unknown. The post production took place 15 and 16 February at Young ‘un Studio in Nashville. The brass overdubs was first to be added on the 15th before the backing vocals the following day.

As with all of these videos, to get the most out of the re-edited audio, I highly recommend you use ear /headphones and turn the volume up as much as you dare!
