Powis Castle | Play like a child

Just love visiting the National Trust's Powis Castle Gardens near Welshpool in North Powys. The gorgeous red medieval castle is set in our beloved Mid Wales with views across the Severn Valley to the Breidden Hills. Magnificent!

I've photographed it many times over the years, but this weekend
decided to do something different. Inspired by the sheer delight of several young visitors enthusiastically exploring the gardens, I too decided to "play like a child" and capture my experience!

Ah well.... It all started well enough on the Italianate terraces surrounded by those giant mounds of carefully manicured topiary... Adventures across the Great Lawn were particularly fun. But then I reached the Wilderness Woodland and things began to go downhill... literally..... ! Suffice to say any parent would not have been impressed!

Such a fun afternoon!
