Fulligans | Folk tunes in the garden

This is a first for our channel! An original folk tune called Fulligans, composed by Graham 30 years ago during our travels around Australia, and now performed regularly by local musicians at music sessions here in Llanidloes in Mid Wales.

Graham is joined in our garden by Cornelius and Peter - the three musicians all play for the popular Mid Wales ceilidh band Sir Dancelot. The sound was recorded live in the garden in March 2022.

It was a beautiful sunny day for a music session in the garden - spring flowers in bloom and the birds singing (listen out for a chiffchaff and a robin!)

Cornelius Eger - cittern
Graham Brand - anglo concertina
Peter Timmins - fiddle

Fulligans

Fulligans is a tune Graham wrote 30 years ago, when we were wandering about Australia and WWOOFing (Willing Workers on Organic Farms) on organic veggie farms.

One such place was Fulligans (which inspired this tune named after it) - a 1000 acre farm in the wilds of New South Wales' Coolangubra National Park. Fulligans is a beautiful, remote place, 30 miles down a dirt track - we remember the eucalyptus forest and wildlife, in particular the purple 'cowpats' left by emus after gorging on blackberries! We washed in the Wog Wog River and drank water collected from the roof of our hut, which tasted, unsurprisingly, of eucalyptus.

Fulligans is still going - it is now an "authentic Aussie farm experience."
