Cittern | Traditional folk music | Michael Turner's Waltz

A new series of traditional folk music tunes! Graham playing Michael Turner's Waltz on a Dave Gregory cittern using his own unique fingerstyle approach.

Michael Turner (born 25 May 1796) was the Parish Clerk at Warnham Parish Church near Horsham in Sussex in the 19th century. Michael Turner included the tune in his manuscript and it became a popular folk tune in the 20th century after being published in the 1982 "A Sussex Tunebook" by Vic Gammon and Annie Loughran. Vic Gammon has written more about Michael Turner's life and history here: http://www.mustrad.org.uk/articles/turner.htm

Every February the snowdrops dance in the wind as we go about our everyday garden chores here in the Upper Severn Valley in Mid Wales, so it seems appropriate to match them up with a waltz!
