HB - Veniliornis (Picoides) fumigatus - Smoky-brown Woodpecker

Veniliornis fumigatus es una especie de carpintero que habita los bosques de altura desde Mexico hasta Norte de Argentina. En la región Andina de Argentina habita preferentemente el bosque montano entre 1700-2500 msnm en partes del bosque que son sombrias y con gran cantidad de musgos sobre los árboles. Suele escucharse primero su vocalización de contacto y luego de escrudiñar el ambiente se lo logra ver.

Veniliornis fumigatus is a woodpecker species that inhabits the high altitude forests from Mexico to Northern Argentina. In the Andean region of Argentina, the montane forest, between 1700-2500 meters above sea level, inhabits parts of the forest that are shady and with a great amount of mosses on the trees. Its contact vocalization is usually heard first, and then, after scrutinizing the environment, it can be seen.
