Mark McCloskey, the gun-toting man who defended his home against protestors, announces Senate run
The St Louis man who infamously brandished a rifle at Black Lives Matter protesters outside his home last year has announced he will run as a Republican Senate candidate in his home state of Missouri.
Mark McCloskey and his wife Patricia gained notoriety when they were photographed outside their home waving weapons after Black Lives Matter protesters entered their property.
The couple were subsequently charged with weapons and evidence tampering offences.
They have pleaded not guilty and Missouri Governor Mike Parson said he will pardon the couple if they are convicted.
Mr McCloskey is running as a Republican candidate for the Senate seat left vacant after incumbent Roy Blunt announced he will step down at next year's midterm elections.
