‘Rising star’ on left touted as next Hilary Clinton
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer is quite similar to 2016 Democratic candidate Hilary Clinton as she possesses a “very similar aesthetic,” says Sky News contributor Kristin Tate.
Ms Tate joined Sky News Australia to shed some light on other Democratic candidates to watch for if an ageing Joe Biden does not win the nomination needed for him to run for a second term.
“She is sort of this intelligent sounding, soft-spoken in a way, yet very clear sounding woman who just projects strength,” she told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“On policy though, she is a radical leftist – disguised in a nice package with rhetoric that sounds more moderate.
“She has run Michigan into the ground, she has been a terrible governor there …she is a rising star on the left.”
