Linda Burney the 'architect of division and failure': Peta Credlin
Giving Linda Burney the greatest position of honour of Governor-General would be a "slap in the face" for the majority of Australians, says Sky News host Peta Credlin.
There has been recent speculation the Indigenous Affairs Minister could take on the role.
Ms Credlin said Ms Burney helped turn a 60 per cent plus vote of support for the Voice into a “crashing defeat” during the referendum campaign.
“She subscribes to the full catastrophe – Voice, Treaty, Truth – that the Australian people have now comprehensively rejected.
“I can understand the PM's interest in reshuffling her out of the frontbench given she's such a poor performer, but seriously, kicking her upstairs is not the way to do it.”
Ms Credlin said someone like Warren Mundine has shown he’s “much more on the nation's wavelength” than Ms Burney.
“Please, not Linda Burney – she’s an architect of division and failure.”
