Pauline Hanson slams school’s same-sex formal ban as ‘ridiculous’
One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has slammed a Catholic high school’s ban on same-sex couples attending a formal together as “ridiculous”.
A student attending St Ursula’s College, Kingsgrove has started a petition as the all-girls school’s policy prevents her from attending the school formal with her girlfriend.
“I can’t see any problem with it,” Ms Hanson told Sky News host Paul Murray.
“We’ve allowed same-sex marriage in Australia, that was voted in a plebiscite by the Australian people – we actually see it on a daily basis on our TV programs we watch.
“It’s a part of life so I think to deny these two girls to go to the formal is ridiculous.”
