Paul Murray urges people in southern Queensland to be prepared to evacuate
Sky News host Paul Murray has urged people living in southern Queensland who are at risk of the fires raging through the region to be prepared to evacuate.
A fire has been burning through the Western Downs Region and has claimed two lives.
“The bushfires that we started talking about last night, fires that may well be burning in deep forest all the way through to the new year,” Mr Murray said.
“Now more fear for that is it’s going to be very similar to what happened in New South Wales before the Black Summer bushfires there.
“Will it combine with other fires? Obviously time will tell.
“Another reminder to everyone, pay attention, when you’re told to leave, leave – if you can, put together that bushfire plan, maybe even think about the go bag with all of the key documents and photos because God forbid it happens to you.”
