Israel needs to ‘uproot’ the ‘genocidal force’ which is Hamas

Bar-Ilan University Professor of Politics Gerald Steinberg says Israel needs to “uproot” the “genocidal force” which is the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.

On October 7 Israel declared war on the Palestinian terrorist group after Hamas fired thousands of rockets as far north as Tel Aviv.

“It’s certainly going to be difficult,” he told Saturday Herald Sun columnist Steve Price.

“Which is why we’re seeing in my view the caution that’s being taken and the step-by-step process and doing as much damage from the air.

“It looks terrible on the television, but you’ve got to uproot that genocidal force.

“It’s like getting rid of ISIS in Iraq and Syria – there’s no choice, these people have this whole military … it’s a very, very virulent, brutal operation, and Israel has to defend its citizens by doing it.”
