'Be careful with this stuff': Chris Kenny's battery warning after Vic golf clubhouse fire
Sky News host Chris Kenny issues a warning after a fire at a golf clubhouse in Victoria’s Yarra Valley was confirmed to have been started by lithium-ion batteries.
Mr Kenny said many golf carts use these batteries and they are often left on charge overnight.
“This is precisely what we've warned about before,” he said.
“Yeah, be careful with this stuff – don't leave these things on charge overnight in your house, and make sure you've got equipment of high quality, the correct chargers to match the right batteries, etcetera.
“Dozens of fires have been started this way this year, and it's a real threat to life and limb, not to mention property.”
