Elvis Presley - Smokey Mountain Boy - Movie version - Re-edited with Stereo audio

Smokey Mountain Boy was chronologically the first song within the narrative of Elvis' 1964 movie Kissin' Cousins. It is one of the few songs and scenes within the movie which were filmed on location, and not on the MGM sound stage.
The song was recorded in two stages due to Elvis suffering from a cold. Firstly, the backing track was laid down at RCA's Studio B in Nashville on 30 September 1963, the first track to be recorded that evening, and take three was chosen as the master. Elvis added his vocals at The MGM Sound Stage in Hollywood on 10 October, and take three was chosen as the RCA master which was also selected for inclusion in the movie.
Before release the RCA master had the intro edited which reduced the running time by thirteen seconds.
