Pelvic Floor Priming And Improved Walking
A tour de force of common core and pelvic floor exercises baked into one sweet cookie! This is my first Pelvic Floor video, and I hope to turn this into a mini-series of 2 to 3 videos.
While reading up on the Pelvic Floor I noticed many therapists and fitness professionals prescribe exercises that seem to be somewhat unrelated to the Pelvic Floor, at first. However, we need to see ourselves as a whole and not separate parts, and we as a whole must present in a functional way in order to help an injured Pelvic Floor to restore, or to keep our Pelvic Floor in prime shape, or to make the most of a well organised self as a whole.
„The psoas, piriformis, quadratus lumborum, glutes, adductors and obturator internus also attach to or influence the pelvis and need to be considered as well”, writes Kim Vopni in her book „Your Pelvic Floor”.
The many exercises of the Pelvic Floor literature and Online Courses often seem somewhat solitary, eclectic, and I was wondering how to create a congruent lesson that 1. includes a big chunk of all popular Pelvic Floor exercises' ideas, 2. is an exploration, and facilitates learning and improvement in harmony with the principles of Somatic Education and most and top of all 3. improves and works on an actual function. What did I come up with?
