American Bandstand 1968 -SPOTLIGHT DANCE – Love Is All Around, The Troggs

Airdate: February 17, 1968

Bandstand regulars June Strode, Leonard Smith and Don Sanuskar are our Spotlight Dancers today. (can’t make out Don’s partner’s name) Don is wearing a new jacket he received for Christmas ‘67 and some pretty groovy (new?) boots. Happy Birthday next week Don!!!

The Troggs’ last song to chart, “Love Is All Around”, will enter the Billboard Hot 100 next week at number 98 and will slowly rise to its peak of number 7 in 13 weeks.

As Dick mentions, the 1968 Winter Olympic Games are going on now in Grenoble, France and will wrap up tomorrow. Last week, on Feb. 10, ice skater Peggy Fleming won the United States’ only gold medal that year.

Scott Burton DJ’d on Minnesota’s WDGY from 1965 to 1971.

Thank you for watching!
