Climbing the Second Highest Mountain in Mongolia - Malchin Peak Summit Pt. 1: Olgii to Basecamp 🇲🇳

It was only my second day in Mongolia and I was so excited to set out on my first adventure in the country to the Altai Mountains. I knew September wasn't the best time to go, but it was the earliest I could get there. The weather wasn't looking good for the upcoming days but I still had high hopes for clear views at the top of the summit. The journey to the entrance of Tavan Bogd National Park from Olgii was mostly dirt, and partially roadless. It still amazes me how well Mongolians can navigate where they are going while driving 60 mph through the middle of the steppe.
