Feldenkrais Crawling For Hip Mobility and Core Strength
Feldenkrais Crawling lesson would be wonderful for your hip mobility and core strength! Whole body coordination is a crucial aspect of balance, yet it is often not addressed in most balance training programs. The ability to move your body continuously to keep your center of mass over base of support is much more complex than holding the body rigid and still.
A common misunderstanding about balance is that people think good balance means holding body still. If buildings were built with such rigid structural foundation that would not allow any movements, they would collapse much more easily when an earthquake hits. Similarly, trees bend when wind blows, or they would break very easily.
Thus, my focus with balance is to improve whole body coordination to allow your body to be more responsive and adaptable rather than rigid and stiff. A beauty of this approach is that you can do balance exercises on any positions and orientations. This is especially great for people who are fearful of falling and are afraid of doing balance exercises in standing.
