2023-03-27 Xiao Qi Ji ~ Bubbles, a Bottle, Branches, & Baths!

#PandaStory: Highlights of some fun moments Xiao Qi Ji has experienced this past week, and of course you'll see Tian Tian and Mei Xiang too.

Last Wednesday the 22nd Xiao Qi Ji had another frisky bout, taking multiple dunks in his pool, splishing and splashing. The enrichment ball with a strap (easier to carry around), his bamboo, and the mirrored half ball in the pool received their fair share of attention too.

Thursday morning Tian Tian and Qi Ji switched Yards for awhile, and Qi Ji took the opportunity to ravage one of the evergreen trees ~ a whole lot of needles and some branches were "bounced" down, and Qi Ji came tumbling after, riding the branch to the ground. And it was so fun he had to do it again! He also took advantage of water being in daddy's outdoor pool and waded through it to cool off from his exertion. (No CO that morning so we were lucky with the camera placement!)

Saturday morning Qi Ji had a very eventful morning, playing on the TP structure, then spending some time on his hammock before tumbling down the hill. He learned well from his mother the joy of rolling! Then the keepers blew bubbles on him up at the gate, and he was delightful to watch as he anointed himself with the bubbles and tried to capture the bubbles in his mouth! Zoomies ensued with Qi Ji tumbling off the TP structure, grabbing his boo and a bottle ... and then he batted the bottle toward the front of the yard where he rolled with the bottle wrapped in his arms. Next up you'll see momma Mei enjoying an apple that she plucked from her pool.

Sunday morning Tian Tian and Qi Ji exchanged greetings at the howdy window. Although he still takes a nap in his evergreen tree, he's using it more as a jungle gym, and you can see why it's naked in so many places. He loves to bounce on the branches! Later indoors he napped atop the rockwork. And there is Tian Tian munching on some sugar cane. Much later in the afternoon Qi Ji "floated" in his pool for the longest time ... still passionate about water.
