2022-10-07 Xiao Qi Ji ~ "F" is for Friday Fun in the Sun!

#PandaStory: Xiao Qi Ji knows what he wants to do, even if it doesn't make sense to us humans. Why walk around your mother who is eating, instead just tumble on top of her! Mei Xiang more or less gave him a talking to and let him know that now was not play time. But he persisted, and Mei kept eating, and walking away from him. So he went to the outdoor pool and played with a log, or is it a long piece of bamboo?

Finally it was play time (the first of 3 play bouts), and there was lots of rolling and tumbling and nibbling, but nothing aggressive ... which is joyful to see! Afterwards Qi Ji went and sat by the pool, his legs dangling in the water. He batted at the stick, and zoom, he was off to the hammock structure, dropping off the structure to roll down the hill, (and he grabbed a mouthful of "salad" on his way by!).

After another play bout he again went to yard 2's pool and this time he went all the way in, playing with the logs, until he got his ears under water ... he shook his head fiercely and scooted out of the pool, after which he tumbled around, licked his paws, jumped around, and played in the trees!

Much later, after filling his belly with bamboo and treats, Qi Ji decided to spend just a wee portion of his nap in the "nesting" circles which now have hay in them. He slid down the rockwork and made himself comfy. For those interested, Mei and Qi Ji did sleep together in those circles early Wednesday morning for about 2 1/2 hours! I hadn't seen them sleep together since probably May?
