2023-02-25 Xiao Qi Ji ~ A Boy & his Toys! So Much Joy!

#PandaStory: Xiao Qi Ji spent some time Thursday and today (Saturday) "playing" and rolling with his enrichment items, his toys! The first 4 minutes of the video shows Thursday action: he tumbled outside with his blue top (half barbell), pulled a ball out of an indoor pool and rolled around with it before batting it around. In between these bursts of energy he did his gymnastics moves on the hammock structure!

Today's action included lots of rolling, both indoors and outdoors. He also played on the hammock and structure, and up in his tree. And for whatever reason he decided to target the evergreen today, bouncing on and even breaking branches as he entertained himself (and us!). Even his tire enrichment item was a toy to be played with. After sprinting around the yard, he would rest a bit, only to find something else to entertain himself.

At the 9:36 mark, Qi Ji decided that his blue Jolly Ball needed to be the focus of his energy and adventure as he scooped it up and tumbled down the hill with it repeatedly. He carries it around outdoors, lavishing it with all sorts of attention. When he appears to bite a piece off, he spits it out after chewing on it a bit (eagle eyes will see the moment). Then he CARRIES it into the Panda House where he rolls around with it some more before using the Amazing Graze (looks like a green fire hydrant) to stand on at the Patio Door with the Jolly Ball in his mouth! Then he carries it up on the rockwork where he loses it over the side.

One more time he stands on the hydrant and then it's time to rest. A playful cub is a happy cub, and a tired cub!
