Empress Alexandra's last Christmas letter, to Sophie "Isa" Buxhoeveden. Christmas Day 1917.

At the end of the year 1917, Isa Buxhoeveden and other suite members who followed the imperial family to Tobolsk, were living in the house adjacent to the Governor's Mansion, called Kornilov house. That Christmas Day, Alexandra Feodorovna, and the rest of the family members, were apparently not able to see their "people", as they referred to them, and the reason may have been because earlier that day, the priest who led the Christmas prayer service, used their imperial titles to pray for their health and well being, as was the custom every Christmas. There were objections from the soldiers who were present at the church, and as a result, the priest was arrested and sent away, and the former imperial family was farther restricted in their freedoms, moving forward.

The letter I read in this video, is published in full in "In The Steps Of The Romanovs" book, on pp. 394-396.
