Celebrations of Nicholas II's 44th birthday and his diary entry for that day. 6 May, 1912. Livadia.
In 1912, on his 44th birthday, Nicholas II wrote in his diary in Livadia:
"6 May. Sunday. I turned 44 years old! The day remained sunny, but with fresh SW.
Took a walk. At 11 1/2 in the courtyard, a church parade with moleben took place.
Then the general greetings and a big breakfast. At 2 o'cl, the entire Black Sea squadron arrived and passed by with fireworks towards Sevastopol. At 2 1/2, we went to the game. Had tea in the little house, due to wind. Responded to endless telegrams. After dinner, nice fireworks were set off above Livadia. Sat all together and assembled a puzzle."
In this historical footage, you can watch the celebrations of the Tsar's birthday, exactly as he described them.
