DIY Japanese Inspired Cherry Trestle Table

I show how to design and build this solid cherry breakfast table using both hand tools and power tools. I got a great deal on the lumber, paying only about $30 for the amount used to make this table.

The leg assembly includes wedged through mortises in the cross member, with purple heart wedges, and bridle joints in the legs. The table top is attached with screws in elongated holes to allow for expansion and contraction of the solid table top. I crafted a shallow bevel around the underside with a hand plane.
