Building a Solid Cherry Crib
Feel free to enable closed captioning for step by step build details, or leave them off to enjoy an ASMR building experience!
I have a comprehensive, detailed set of plans for this table for sale on my Etsy page here:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/1685329175/
I recently designed and built this crib out of solid walnut, employing both pinned half lap joinery and mortise and tenon joinery. I used a hybrid combination of power tools and hand tools for this build.
I designed this crib myself, drawing on inspiration from a variety of cribs by other makers. The tapered legs and the thinner slats give the crib a lighter, airier feel. The primary wood is black walnut, while for a secondary wood I used poplar.
The crib has three adjustable mattress heights, so it will grow along with my child. It is held together with bolts tapped directly into the solid wood legs, so it can be broken down and stored completely flat.
