Crested Francolin Call & Sounds

The sounds of Crested Francolin calling in the wild in South Africa. The most commonly-heard call of the Crested Francolin is an antiphonal duet given by a male and female bird consisting of a loud, rhythmic metallic cackling phrase. These noisy calls can be heard both day and night.

The Crested Francolin (Ortygornis sephaena) calls in this video were recorded in Waterberg Biosphere Reserve, South Africa. More examples of wildlife sounds and bird calls can be found on my website https://wildambience.com/wildlife-sounds/
