Hoopoe Call - The sounds of a Eurasian Hoopoe calling

The sounds of a Eurasian Hoopoe calling in the African bush. The typical song of this species consists of a series of mellow, flat “hoo-poo” or “hoo-poo-poo” notes. Eurasian Hoopoes also make a few other vocalizations including mechanical rattles, harsh hissing calls and other softer sounds.

Eurasian Hoopoe (Upupa epops) are found in southern and eastern Europe, across Asia, and throughout most of Africa. The Eurasian Hoope sounds in this video were recorded in Botswana.
