Although many of us may workout, stretch, and eat healthy, it won't do much good if we practice poor workplace ergonomics both in and out of the office. Because much of our time is spent looking at electronic devices, such as a computer or laptop, how we position our body in relation to those objects over long periods of time can have a significant impact on our health.
Basically, practicing good ergonomics means positioning objects that you are using, such as a laptop, to conform to the way your body is shaped and not the other way around. So if a laptop is positioned too low in relation to your body, raise it up to your eye level instead. The same thing goes for your cellphone so you can avoid text neck. By practicing good office posture, you will prevent yourself from going into harmful forward head posture position. This done over long periods of time can cause muscle imbalances and other issues. By keeping this in mind, you will prevent yourself from getting a muscle injury and other ailments including poor posture, pinched nerves, headaches, and more.
