Elvis Presley - And I Love You So - From First Take to the Master

Three consecutive days in March 1975 saw Elvis record in a proper recording studio for the final time and the resultant session would yield ten masters which would be the subsequent contents of the “Today” album.
Of the songs recorded at this session, six songs would be find themselves performed live on stage by Elvis with a seventh, “Bringin’ It Back” having one rendition featuring Elvis as bass singer. Only two songs from the session would feature on the set list from the first show after the recordings concluded until Elvis’ final show just over two years later.
“And I Love You So”, the final songs recorded on the first day of the session, 13 March 1975, would be the track which featured in the live show more than any other. Elvis achieved the master in five takes in RCA’s studio C in Hollywood and additional instrumental, vocal and orchestral overdubs were added from 8 to 14 May 1975 at Quadrofonic Sound Studio in Nashville. The resultant master would then be placed as the second track on the Elvis Today album which was released in May 1975.
