Effects - Open FX - Fast Noise

Drag this effect onto the clip and open up the Effects section of the Inspector.

Change the Preset to "Water Surface" or "River" to achieve a moving water effect without keyframes.

Detail Level
Controls the amount of fine detail.

Contrast
Controls the amount of large scale distortion.

Seethe
Controls how "choppy" the water is from frame to frame.

Velocity X and Velocity Y
Controls the movement in the X and Y directions.

Rotation
Controls the angle of the effect.

Output
To visualise the effect as a black and white graphic, change this option to "Composite Onto Clip".
Set this back to "Use to Warp Image" to see the water effect.
