Elvis Presley - I'm Leavin' (Live) - 27 April 1973 - The Portland Memorial Coliseum

This song is one of those which doesn’t transfer seamlessly to the stage and leaves a little bit behind in the recording studio. This is mainly due to the fact that the studio creates a fragility and intimacy that quite simply cannot be replicated in the live environment. The studio master, recorded in Nashville on 20 May 1971, shows Elvis give an interpretation which shows the emotional state of the protagonist.
It will therefore, be of little surprise, that Elvis very rarely performed the song at the larger arenas, that is out with Las Vegas or Lake Tahoe. In spite of these apparent drawbacks, this rendition from Portland on 27 April 1973 is sublime.

As with all of these videos, to get the most out of the re-edited audio, I highly recommend you use ear /headphones and turn the volume up as much as you dare!
